Until we can make you something in 4D, three dimensions is going to be the best we can do. Which just happens to be at the core of our skills.

With all the ability of creating 3D objects, there has been a catch-up phase for creating physical copies of these pixel-born objects.  That catch-up is happening now, and is happening quickly. One can now print in almost any material, ranging from metals and plastics, to porcelain, glass, and even food such as cheese or sugar. Notable milestones as of late are the Nike 3D printed shoe, the Vapor Laser Talon.  The shoe was 3D printed to escape the constraints of conventional manufacturing.  I would liken it to an organic object growing to…

With the opening of the Pie Spot just a few weeks ago at the Ocean complex, I’ve completed principle photography on the documentary short I’ve been working on. Now I need to cut the thing together. Oy. I’m totally guessing, but I think we’re up there in the shooting ratio of 80:1. As a big fan of Ray Harryhausen and…

ADi was very excited to learn that Portland Monthly Magazine wanted to interview Kate a while back. We think what we do is pretty cool, so we are always very interested and pleased when others share our enthusiasm for the work we do. Our work is not only fun and very creative, but we really do help our clients succeed, and that is always job one. The reporter came to our studio to talk with her and there was a photo shoot as well. The photo from the print edition of…

So I run a creative organization – I have for almost 13 years now – and when I started I thought I knew everything (running an organization is like running a crew on a film set — it’s just a really long production! Right?  Umm, no.) — and now that I am over a decade into it and the business is a success, I realize how much I had to learn on the fly, and how much I had to listen to team input, and how much I had to…
