One of the rad things we do here at ADi is participate in independent and experimental projects as often as we can. Currently we are involved in a short film called Persephone (as faithful readers of the ADi blog know) with Director Mark Roush of New Adjustment Productions. A turn of the century dark tale of a magical woman made of chocolate. A brilliant story by Roush, to learn more click here to visit his blog. Part of my role on this project is keying out the backgrounds so the characters can…

ADi’s Art Director, Vince Nimmor, has done the lion’s share of the keying–all of it, really–and while…

Planar, maker of many kinds of cool display technologies, approached ADi with a unique proposition. Conceive and design an animation for a video display. The display is pretty much one of a kind – ten feet tall, made of 4 display panels with almost no bezel. They are mounted on a tree-like frame that sprouts up out of a base that cleverly disguises the media player and inner workings of the “Art Wall”. We are going to follow the progress of this project and show you step by step how it comes…

It’s September, y’all. That means different things to different folks. While many like to lament the cessation of summer by the upstart school year that crowds the streets for the morning commute and taxes the daily logistics of the workaday world, it hardly seems like these complaints find traction in a year when we’re just now entering our first sustained period of 90-degree temperatures as the moon waxes toward its Harvest grandeur. In simpler terms: Summer ain’t over, yo! Though you may not be able to  find a weekend yurt rental on…
