In 2009, I wrote a post about my search for a digital tablet that I could use as a replacement for my sketchbook and notebook. I’ve been an advocate for tablet devices as artistic tools for many years. Mainstream business culture is waking up to the potential that ultra-portable tablets like iPad and Android tablets have as work devices. We are spoiled for choice of Office-compatible apps and suites, email clients, file sharing… everything you need for a day away from the desktop. For us visual types, there are even…

My January mini project, check out the whole process at http://alexmillerartist.blogspot.com/ Something I’ve been thinking about lately has been focus, it has always been a struggle for me to focus in the short and long term. I started a project in which I have one project a month that I will focus on, bringing it through the stages of visual development to a completed shot with animation. In terms of my own work, the problem I usually deal with is being distracted not just by time wasting content, but by different ideas…

One thing people who know me well know about me is this…I’m cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs. Actually that isn’t entirely true, I was never allowed to get chocolate cereal as a kid, and if I had been, I would have totally gone for Count Chocula. But it is true that I have chocolate on the brain these days, and that’s owed in no small part to the work we’ve been doing here at the shop on Mark Roush’s short film Persephone. In the free association, free range pathways of my mind,…

    Man, I gotta Key!

One of the rad things we do here at ADi is participate in independent and experimental projects as often as we can. Currently we are involved in a short film called Persephone (as faithful readers of the ADi blog know) with Director Mark Roush of New Adjustment Productions. A turn of the century dark tale of a magical woman made of chocolate. A brilliant story by Roush, to learn more click here to visit his blog. Part of my role on this project is keying out the backgrounds so the characters can…
