    Content and Context: the two go hand in hand

    This year, I’ve made three trips to Las Vegas for three different trade shows. The Consumer Electronics Show (CES), The Digital Signage Expo (DSE) and Infocomm. These three shows, while of varying sizes and attendees, have quite a few similarities in terms of exhibitors. Here are some things I found in common at all three shows (without naming and shaming specific companies): There were more than a few instances of display screens with nothing on them but error messages.     Made a Board Game…

    One night, my friend and I were at the bar having dinner after a long session of Diablo 3.  We were talking about mini games for our Dungeons and Dragons campaign, and within half an hour I had a fantastically simple yet complex game designed and ready to test.  That night, after the bar, I built a rough board in Photoshop and we played eleven games in two hours with the Photoshop file, as I have no printer.  We couldn’t stop ourselves.  The design had just enough randomness to make…
